Welcome

Millions of acres of land are held in trust and used to support schools throughout Utah. Revenue from this land is invested by the State Treasurer and annual dividends go to every school in the state to be used for school improvement. To administer these funds, School Community Councils are elected to create a School Improvement Plan designed to improve academic performance.

School improvement is the responsibility of everyone and School Community Councils are a way for parents, school faculty and the community at large to make schools more successful. Through the training modules on this site, you can learn more about important topics relating to SCC law, roles of council members, conducting council meetings, best practices and many others. The modules are designed to stand alone, so you can use one or many of them to build your own skills or those of your SCC.
